Answer: Primers are meant to prepare your skin for the foundation base. Depending on the brand and the product, primers have the ability of: Filling of fine lines, Creating an even smooth and surface, Controlling oil, Hydrating skin, Color correction, Long lasting, Smooths the skin.

a. Silicon (photo primer) - Fills finelines and pores, creates even surface of the skin, controls oil (LA Girl, LA Colors, Milani No Pores)

b. Water-based- Hydrating, color correction (Milani Hydrating, LA Girl color correcting primer)
 

Answer: Concealers are products made to conceal imperfections on the face which can be used to lighten up or highlight the complexion.

Answer: Color correctors are only required if concealer cannot provide the desired coverage.

Answer: Some of the ways you can stop your foundation from oxidizing is doing proper skincare before starting off makeup, using a primer according to your skin type, using setting powders and setting spray.

Questions related to Skincare

Answer: As glycolic acid being considered as the strongest AHA due to its molecular size and the tendency to dissolve smallest matters, it can be strong and may also cause slight irritation or stinging. 

Answer: The best product for whiteheads, open pores and dullness can be chemical exfoliation according to your skin type. And for finelines, you can incorporate retinols if you are 25+ otherwise proper skincare, use of vitamin C serums also helps minimize finelines. 

Answer: Yes. The peak sunlight hour is 10am-2pm. One must reapply sunscreen every 2-3 hours. If you have makeup on, you can apply sunscreen that is in the form of powder so that the reapplication is easier.
 

Answer: It is a method of cleansing your face twice. First with an oil based cleanser and then with a water-based cleanser. 

Answer: Oil based cleansers help to break down makeup, sunscreen, dirt and excess oils from your skin. Water based cleansers will address a particular skin type and should have the ingredients to hydrate your skin.

Answer: The products for pimple scars are Good Molecules discoloration correcting serum and Derma E scar gel.  

Answer: You can start by incorporating a cleanser with Salicylic acid. Eg: Derma E Acne deep pore cleansing wash, Cosrx salicylic acid gentle cleanser.
 

Answer: Yes, it does work but as the wrinkles have been already formed so the eyecream helps to minimise the fine lines & wrinkles.
 

Answer: Retinol can be started from the mid 20s, it should be incorporated in your PM routine. While starting retinol it should be applied 2-3 times a week and then slowly the usage can be increased. 

Answer: Yes, retinol and niacinamide can be used together. First apply your niacinamide serum and then apply your retinol serum.  

Answer: The best serum for melasma is ROC revive+glow night capsule serums. Also the proper application of sunscreen is important.
 

Answer: You can use Good Molecules Clarify and Cleansing Bar and you can use it 3-4 times a week for best results. 

Answer: The products suitable for pores, pigmentation, dark circles and hyperpigmentation are incorporating retinol if you’re over the age of 25.

If you’re under the age of 25 and on the oily side then incorporating salicylic acid and vitamin c will help reduce.

If on the dry side then using AHAs once a week and using concentrated Vitamin C works best.
 

Answer: Having proper skincare routine, chemical exfoliators, removing makeup properly, using sunscreen in appropriate amounts and also reapplication helps.

Some products that are helpful are : Vitamin C serums, Good molecules daily brightening serums.
 

Answer: The products suitable are using Good molecules daily brightening serum in the AM and using ROC line smoothing night capsule serums in the PM. Also using a hydrating moisturizer and a sunscreen (Australian gold plant based sunscreen, Cosrx aloe soothing sun cream) 

Answer: The best vitamin C serum for beginners and dry skin would be Derma E Vitamin C concentrated serum.

And the best age to start retinol would be mid 20s and the appropriate retinol for beginners would be the Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream. Start by using 2-3 times a week and then slowly increasing.
 

Answer: The anti wrinkle treatment oil from Derma E might not deliver the required amount of hydration. So using rosehip oil from Good Molecules will be the best one otherwise you can use a hyaluronic acid serum. (Eg: Derma E hydrating serum, Good Molecules hyaluronic serum, Revolution hyaluronic serum, Skin Deva hyaluronic serum) 

Answer: Getting proper amount of sleep, drinking enough water helps and for effective results you can incorporate eye creams.

If your skin is on the dry side and under the age of 25 then you can incorporate hydrating eye creams (eg: Derma E hydrating eye cream). And over the age of 25 you can incorporate ROC retinol correxion line smoothing eye cream.

If your skin is on the oily side then you can use Derma E No Dark Circles Eye cream and can use the ROC retinol correxion line smoothing eye cream over the age of mid 20s.
 

Answer: Yes, the Good Molecules discoloration correcting serum does work for melasma and for an effective result you can use ROC revive+glow night capsule serums. 

Answer: Yes salicylic acid does help for pimples & acne and for effective results you can incorporate other active ingredients. 

Answer: You can incorporate salicylic acid cleansers “Derma acne deep pore cleansing wash, Cosrx salicylic acid gentle cleanser”, “ Cosrx bha blackhead power liquid” salicylic acid serums “Revolution salicylic acid serum” (use it 3-4 times a week) 

Answer: You can incorporate chemical exfoliation once a week “Good molecules overnight exfoliating treatment” or “ Derma E overnight peel”

You can also incorporate Derma E vitamin C concentrated serum.
 

Answer: The best products for acne scars are: Good molecules discoloration correcting serum, ROC revive + glow night capsule serums, Derma E scar gel, Vitamin C serums, Retinols (for over the age of 25) 

Answer: The effective niacinamide serum for PIH would be “Good molecules niacinamide serum”. You also can incorporate “Good Molecules niacinamide brightening toner” which includes niacinamide, vitamin C, arbutin, licorice root extract as key ingredients.

The main benefit of these ingredients are evens out skin tone, brightening dark spots, dullness. So, this toner also might be really beneficial for PIH.

Also if you’re over the age of mid 20s then you can incorporate a retinol serum on your skincare routine.

Answer: Yes, applying sunscreen is important even while staying indoors as UV rays can pass through the glass windows and even on a rainy/cloudy day sunscreen application is necessary. As the harmful UVA and UVB rays tend to penetrate into our skin.
 

Answer: Yes, sunscreen is necessary no matter the weather.  

Answer: The difference between chemical and mineral/physical sunscreen is that; chemical sunscreen absorbs UV rays, converts the rays into heat. It has less chances of leaving residue or white castes.

Mineral/physical sunscreen sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun’s rays and has chances of leaving residue or white castes. It tends to protect skin from UV rays as soon as applied in comparison to chemical sunscreen, as chemical sunscreen needs some time.
 

Answer: It is best to avoid active ingredients in skincare during pregnancy and the best option would be consulting your reliable dermatologist incase of skincare. 

Answer: No, generally freckles cannot be removed but you can help prevent it by incorporating vitamin C serums and applying sunscreen.

And in case you already have freckles then you can use these products; “Good molecules daily brightening serum”, “Derma E skin brighten”, “Good molecules discoloration correcting serum”, “ROC revive+glow night capsule serums”.

Answer: Purging refers to your skin reacting to active ingredients which is increasing skin cell turnover rate.

Yes, in a way purging is good because the products that you’re using are doing its work. Purging happens in the areas that you tend to breakout and might usually last 4-6 weeks.
 

Answer: Yes, hyaluronic acid can be applied under the eyes but it is always safer to use an eye cream according to your concern around eye areas as the eye areas have the thinnest skin and might have reactions when using products other than eye creams.  

Answer: Yes, sunscreen can be used around the eye area in a tapping motion. Some people might feel sensitivity or irritation around the eye area from the sunscreen due to its ingredients, if you are one of them then you can avoid sunscreen around the eye area.  

Answer: The best skincare for pores and uneven skin tone would be incorporating chemical exfoliators, vitamin C serum, retinol.
 

Answer: Always look for products with hyaluronic acid, adding a hyaluronic acid serum in your skincare would be the best and also apply it on a damp skin.
 

Answer: The pimples around the mouth area mostly occur due to mask acne so in this case, changing your masks regularly, proper cleansing also helps.

Answer: No, niacinamide doesn’t cause milia. Milia usually occurs when the cells become trapped rather than exfoliated and milia might also occur when comedogenic products are used.  

Answer: Yes,first apply your niacinamide serum and then your Good Molecules daily brightening serum. 

Answer: Yes, niacinamide and retinol can be used together. So, the best thing will be to apply your niacinamide serum, let it sit for sometime then apply your retinol serum.  

Answer: Vitamin C helps brighten your skin, helps fade dark spots, sun spots, acne scars, boosts collagen, minimizes pores, helps with textured skin.

If you have combination skin with pores and rough skin then incorporating a vitamin C Serum and chemical exfoliant will be the best.
 

Answer: Yes, salicylic acid alone can help cure acne but might take some time so for effective results you can always add other active ingredients in your routine.  

Answer: Moisturizer for extremely dry skin would be the Cosrx hyaluronic acid intensive cream.

Moisturizers are great but serums would be more effective if you’re looking to hydrate your skin.
 

Answer: Niacinamide and Vitamin C cannot be used together in the same routine. But if you’re looking forward to incorporate both niacinamide serum and vitamin C serum in your skincare routine then use Vitamin C serum in the AM and Niacinamide serum in your PM routine.
 

Answer: Even though the Vitamin C can be applied both in AM & PM but it is best to use in the AM routine for effective results. 

Answer: The best time to apply retinol is in your PM routine and can be started from the mid 20s.

While starting with retinol apply it 2-3 times a week and then slowly increase the dosage.
 

Answer: To get rid of Milia, you can use Good Molecules glycolic toner (once or twice a week) and use ROC retinol eye cream.
